A "split AC" is a common air conditioning system consisting of two main units—an outdoor condenser and an indoor evaporator—connected by refrigerant lines. While some split ACs are "ductless" and cool a single space directly, many larger or central "split AC" systems utilize a network of "ducts," which are channels (typically made of sheet metal or fiberglass) that distribute the conditioned air from the indoor unit to various rooms and return stale air back for reconditioning, ensuring efficient and even temperature control throughout a building.
